At the recent resident’s association meeting, the issue of house alarms was raised. It was stated that there are frequent occasions when alarms go off day and night, sometimes several times and are not switched off. On behalf of all residents in Glenside, it was requested that all residents whose house is alarmed, that when the house is vacant and the alarm set, that it is also monitored and a key holder appointed. Therefore in the event of the alarm activating, the nominated key holder is informed, and alarm is switched off. This shows common courtesy to all residents. Your co-operation in this matter is greatly appreciated. On behalf of Glenside Residents Association.

July 21st, 2009 - Skate Park
You may be aware that the skate park was recently resurfaced. If it was not bad enough to have it closed for the first two weeks of the holidays, the contractors laid some sort of sealant which now renders it dangerous and unusable. I have been in touch with a Brian Kennedy form Limerick Council who is saying that he is making arrangements to have the contractors come back to fix the problem. Could anybody with a vested interest please ring Brian at the council on 061 496000 to register a complaint. Obviously the more calls, the more pressure to rectify the problem!

"At approximately 12.30pm today (Wednesday 29th April) a lady rang our doorbell. As my daughter was asleep upstairs she took some time to get to the front door. In the interim the lady tried to open the door by what sounded like an attempt to put a key in the door and she also tried the door handle. Luckily the door was keyed from the inside. The only description I have of her is that she wore a cream/grey couloured hooded jacket with the hood up and she carried a green plastic folder. Incidently no mail or flyers were put through the letterbox. Has anybody else seen this lady around ?

April 9th, 2009 - Clean Ireland Bin Collection
All those on the Clean Ireland bin collection route may have noticed that the regular Tuesday collection happened at 6.30am. As a result a number of bins were not collected as they were put out later.
I have convinced them to make another collection tomorrow morning (thursday Apr 9th), they advised to put them out the night before to ensure collection.
May i suggest if the collection is not made 2moro as advised, that you ring them directly and complain (065 - 689 1350). please tell them your resident committee had advised they would be making this collection and it hasn't happened.
